Chinese Martial Art Association unveils new "Moonlight Dragon"

ImageChinese Martial Art Association (CMAA) deserves every support for the tireless efforts and sacrifices in promoting and preserving culture and thus must be encouraged to continue with their positive social community work said Datuk Yong Khoon Seng, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works at the “Moonlight Dragon” eye-dotting ceremony held at the Tua Pek Kong Temple, Kuching. CMAA must stay focused on its objectives and work for long term goals that all of us can be proud of, advised Datuk Yong.

45 CMAA wushu athletes awarded upgrading certificates

Wushu athletes must learn to uphold and adhere to noble values and strive for positive character development that will serve them well in society advised Datuk Yong Khoon Seng the Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Works at the Chinese Martial Art Association (CMAA) wushu athletes upgrading ceremony held at its training centre, Family Club, Tabuan Laru on Friday evening that was also attended by parents, teachers and CMAA officials. Datuk Yong commended CMAA for its untiring efforts in promoting sports and culture amongst the youths and its carrying out activities and programmes that contribute to society building. In support of the association`s programmes, Datuk Yong pledged to allocate a financial grant to assist CMAA.

CMAA Wushu Coach Calvin Kong making impact in Indonesia

ImageChinese Martial Art Association`s wushu coach Calvin Kong Nyon Chung who is also the Sarawak State Sports Council Elite Centre Wushu Coach is fast making his mark in the Indonesian national wushu arena following the historic success of his Indonesian charges at the recently concluded Indonesia National/ Semarang Open Wushu Championship (KEJURNAS) held in Semarang, Java, Indonesia, 1-5 August 2006 that attracted a participation totaling 468 athletes from 16 Indonesian provinces. It is certainly an honour for the state and boost to international sports relations when twenty six year old Calvin was requested to assist as the foreign taolu coach of the West Kalimantan (Kalbar) wushu team that was making its maiden appearance in the Indonesia National.

Sabah Wushu Association on goodwill visit to CMAA

Kuching. (7/8/2006)

Chinese Martial Art Association (CMAA) hosted a six day sport and cultural exchange programme for Sabah Wushu Association delegation of six wushu athletes accompanied by its president Master Yee Wan Ping in Kuching last week. The six day stint also included an introductory course for “green faced” lion dance conducted by CMAA for the Sabahans apart from a mutual exchange of technical expertise in wushu and traditional Chinese martial arts.
